Biography:

Kim Cimetta earned an Honours degree in Fine Arts at the University of Western Ontario and went on to complete her Honours Photography Diploma at Fanshawe College. Her photographic work was exhibited in galleries in London and Toronto, and garnered a number of awards including a Gold Award from the Advertising Art Society of London and top prize at the Kodak Competition in Toronto. Kim worked as a successful commercial photographer for seven years in Toronto before returning to university to earn her teaching qualifications in 1993.

Kim has been sharing her passion for photography and art with HTS students since 2004. In addition to her roles as visual arts teacher and Department Head, she is also responsible for creating the sets for the school’s theatrical productions, running the art club, and mentoring the arts council.

During the summer, Kim continues to create art, especially mixed media and photography pieces, while enjoying her family cottage in northern Ontario.
