The school has created a thorough Q & A in our HTS Community section to address any questions current parents may have about the program Apple 1:1 program. Please login and click the “Apple 1:1 program” icon at the top right of the page to read more about the educational vision, logistics, platform consideration, finance, support and other areas of this program.
Starting September 2012, all Middle School students will need iPads and Senior School students going into Grades 9 through 11 will require MacBook Pro or MacBook Air laptops for their studies. Lower School students will use school -owned iPads and computers in their classes. Devices can be purchased anywhere, however for ease, we have created an HTS online store. Click here to access the information page for the HTS Apple on campus store.
Additional questions can be sent to HTS’s Director of Innovation and Technology, Vince Delisi at vdelisi@hts.on.ca.
The decision to move to a 1:1 program was taken first and foremost to enhance student learning. A 1:1 environment helps standardize the "learning environment" between home and school and makes greater use of multimedia and interactive learning materials possible. It also supports independent learning, allowing our students to find audiences for their work, to solve problems together, and better prepare them for the challenges and opportunities presented in the 21st Century. Please consult the “Educational Vision” link in the Apple Q&A to read about the benefits of using this technology in the classroom.
