After a sensational season, the U12 Boys Basketball team were crowned champions this past weekend after triumphantly winning the CISAA Division I championship! The team traveled to Hillfield Strathallan College in Hamilton last Saturday to play in the tournament against five other CIS schools, including Hillfield, Upper Canada College, Bayview Glen, Sterling Hall School and Crescent School.
The Hawks showed strong skills on the court, with unbelievable passing and great teamwork in every game. In the final match against powerhouse UCC, the Hawks were able to come away with a convincing victory, winning by 7 points. Coaches David Hughes and Jason Wood credit the entire team for their great play, recognizing team captains Ian L and Christian A – as well as Rocco R, as stand out contributors and athletes for the tournament.
“The whole team was focused, showed great camaraderie and were totally unselfish in their play,” says coach David Hughes. “That teamwork allowed HTS to win its first Division I championship in this sport and we are truly proud of the students for their amazing efforts.”
Congratulations to the entire team for a terrific achievement!
