Monday, May 2

The U-14 Boys’ Rugby team suffered their first loss at the hands of Ridley College on Wednesday, April 27. HTS played a strong encouraging second half, highlighted by Alex W.'s first rugby try.

Tuesday, May 3

The U14 Boys’ Softball team dropped a 15 to 6 decision to CDS on Monday in their first game of their season. Lucas and Delwin scored two runs apiece, and Matteo turned a nice double play.

The Senior Girls’ Rugby team lost a hard-fought battle against a very large and very tough CDS team, Monday. The team made a solid effort, despite several injuries. Serena and Maddy made fantastic tackles, Desola and Rachel had great runs while Carly scored our only try.

Monday, the U16 Boys Rugby team played its second match of the season at Hillfield-Strathallan College. Despite playing shorthanded, the team improved in several areas but unfortunately still lost 34 to 10. Try scorers were James P. and Ryan N.

The U14 Girls’ Soccer team played their second game and emerged victorious once again. After a slow first half, the girls jelled in the second, scoring 4 goals for a final 5-0 victory. Rohini Pasricha made 2 goals, and Sabrina added 2 more. Sarah scored a beautiful solo shot from the right side of the field.

Senior Boys Badminton racquet warriors defeated Hillfield College with a 5-0 victory. Good job to the entire team. Special Mentions go out to Mr. Lama for inspiring the team to victory.

Thursday, May 5

The Senior Girls’ Softball team won their exhibition game against St. Clements yesterday 11-5! The girls demonstrated excellent defense with a double play by Lauren B., 2 three-up three-down innings and excellent pitching by Sam K. and Courtney W.

In a comeback of epic proportions, the U12 Softball team recovered from an 8 run deficit to snatch victory in the final inning from a startled CDS. Final score: 16-15. Special recognition to Jake and Ben for awesome pitching and Sean and Angelo for timely hitting.

The U14 Girls’ Soccer team is on fire! The girls controlled the entire game while placing 5 goals into SJK’s net. Thanks to Julia K. and Michelle M. for minding our nets. Rohini P. scored 2 goals, Sabrina G. scored 1, Felicia D. finally popped 1 in, and Ginny P. also scored a nice one-timer. One league game remains.

Friday, May 6

The U16 Girls’ Tennis team powered its way to a decisive 5-1 victory yesterday over Appleby College. Led by strong performances from captains Nicole H. and Rachel R., and an outstanding singles match by Caroline G., the whole team exhibited fine play during their first match of the season

Last evening the Senior Girls’ Softball team played a fantastic game against Crestwood who they defeated 29-0. Congrats goes to Lauren and Sarah Lam for their home runs and Samantha K. for her double play.

The U14 Boys’ Tennis team competed successfully against Appleby yesterday, winning 3 of 5 sets. Buoyed by the wins of doubles teams of Lee and Sanwal, and Matsui and Ajisafe, our captain Tyler L. then clinched the match with his singles win. HTS almost made a clean sweep, as Connor H. and Jonathan S. then played excellent singles sets, but both narrowly lost in extremely close tie-breakers.

The U14 Boys Softball team competed competed very well yesterday against Appleby for the first few innings, but struggled defensively later on, ultimately dropping a 19 to 7 decision. Standouts for the Hawks included Brian M. and Dean George for their key hitting and solid fielding.
