Fope Babaniji is a Grade 9 student who created a dress with her partner, Natasha Ng. The dress is made from light purple poly silk as the base with white organza. It features a black poly silk sash and laser cut flowers made from black and white poly silk.
Fope joined the Fashion Forward club as she thought it would be useful to learn how to sew. Throughout the process, she learned that creating a fashion item takes a lot of patience and each stitch is important in order to perfect the piece. Fope enjoyed learning how to sew and making something from scratch. Her advice to future participants is that being patient is super important.
