Medina Purisic is a Grade 11 student who created a skirt and top. The skirt is made of black tulle with many layers to add interest and dimension. The top is a tight, black turtleneck featuring gold appliques.
Throughout her process, Medina learned that she sticks to the plans she makes but became aware that challenges will arise along the way. She discovered that creating a fashion item is a long process that requires coming up with an idea, developing, designing, creating and finally adding the finishing details. Medina’s favourite part of the process was seeing her model wear her finished design. Her advice to future participants is to be open to changes and new ideas.
