Joseph Adamo, Board Chair

Joseph Adamo has nearly 30 years of experience in Strategy, Management and Finance. His professional involvement spans medium and large businesses, holding several senior C-suite positions.  Joseph’s organization set includes entrepreneurial owner-operator businesses, publicly traded companies and volunteer work in not-for-profit organizations.

Joseph is a Chartered Professional Accountant and holds an MBA from the Schulich School of Business at York University. He is the past President and CFO of Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group and currently serves as Executive Vice President Operations and CFO for the Umbra/TCH Group of Companies. A chief strategist in the business, Joseph oversees finance, technology and operations, with teams spanning the America’s, Europe, mainland China and Asia.

Joseph has deep roots at HTS, his involvement dating back to 2011. He and his wife Angela, who is a Grade 7 school teacher in the public system, have twins who are graduates of the HTS from the Class of ’16. Joseph has been actively involved with the school since 2011, holding several roles over those years, including Vice Chair of the Board, Chair of The Finance and Operational Risk Committee, and Chair of the Head Support Committee of the Executive. Joseph has also been a participating member of the Strategy Committee.

Joseph is no stranger to volunteer work and participation in not-for-profit boards, at one time serving on the Toronto Cabinet of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. More recently, a past-member of the CIS Ontario Board of Directors. In his spare time, Joseph enjoys activities with his family, reading, travel and keeping active, along with a life-long passion for all things automotive.
