Double Gold for the U13 Boys Basketball Team

“From the first practice I knew this team was going to be special,” says Coach Thompson “the squad was filled with very talented and skilled basketball players.”

Overall, the team had a record of 14 wins and only 2 losses. In early February, the team travelled to Hamilton to take part in the CAIS national tournament where they played 8 games in 3 days. The team ended up winning the Division 2 Championship, defeating The Sterling Hall School 34-32.

With the final four tournament being held at HTS, the hawks were ready to battle for another banner on their own court. The team beat The York School 54-42 in the semi-finals and then Upper Canada College 53-37 in the finals, crowning them CISAA Division 2 Champions!

Our captains, Anthony N. and Diego P. were outstanding leaders and Ben P. and Anthony N. led the team in scoring while Victor C. was our defensive specialist. Coach Thompson commends the whole team for their tremendous dedication and hard work all season. It is very hard to win one championship let alone two in the same year.

Well done, U13 Boys Basketball!
