On March 5-8, the Senior Girls Volleyball team represented CISAA at the provincial OFSAA "A" volleyball championships that was held in Welland.

The team was the seventh seed in the tournament and second seed in their pool. However, the girls demonstrated from their first match that they would be a team to be reckoned with, and soon became the buzz of the tournament. This was fortified when the Hawks upset the fourth seed Hamilton District Christian H.S. 2-0 in pool play and assured that the team would advance to the Championship side for the third consecutive year. The team completed the round robin undefeated.

In an exciting quarter-final match, the girls played the fifth seed É.S.P. Louis-Riel, a sports school from Ottawa. The girls won the match 3-1, with three of the four sets decided by only 2 points.

In the semi-finals, the Hawks battled the sixth seed É.S.C. Franco-Cite from Sturgeon Falls, who had upset the top seed in round robin play. The girls were off to a blazing start, taking the first two sets of the match. However, the team couldn't quite close the door and lost the match in a heart-breaking five sets.

The girls did a great job to regroup themselves in the bronze medal match against the home team É.S.C. Jean-Vainer. The girls would not let this match slip away from them and easily captured the bronze medal in three straight sets.

Congratulations to the girls who all played magnificently throughout the tournament, and for capturing the bronze medal for HTS!
