Summer Camp

HTS Camps strives to offer a wide variety of safe, educational, enjoyable and fun-filled activities for children of all ages.
We encourage our campers to be enthusiastic participants, and we will challenge each camper to be their best. In addition to high-quality instruction of each individual camp’s theme, our HTS Camp staff are passionate about teaching core values such as respect, teamwork, compassion and honour; enabling each camper to be better citizens in their community.

Please note, there will be no camp on Monday, July 1, to observe Canada Day.

Hours
Drop-off is between 8:45am and 9:00am. Pick-up is between 3:30pm and 3:45pm. Extended Care is available for all campers for a fee of $60 per child/week, and can be paid for online. Extended Care drop-off begins at 7:45am and pick-up is anytime before 5:45pm.

  • AlphaBesties Club

    HTS welcomes back an exciting summer enrichment program designed for students entering Kindergarten and Grade 1. This integrated literacy program will feature games, activities, songs, inquiries, explorations, art, technology and more. Get your little ones excited about learning and prepare them for the new challenges that await them in the upcoming school year. This program will focus on reading, letter recognition and phonemic awareness (letter sounds), as well as sight words to help foster your child’s increased interest in words and books. It will also assist in developing and maintaining the foundations of students’ literacy skills with a personalized and fun-filled approach.

  • Musical Theatre

    Campers will dance, sing and perform under the lights on stage in our theatre at this enthusiastic and dynamic camp. Our young talent will be able to "strut their stuff" by learning choreographed performance techniques, while singing to exciting themes such as The Sound of Music, Into the Woods and Pitch Perfect.

Camp Coordinator:
The HTS Summer Program is looking for Camp Coordinators who will be responsible for the day-to-day programming and organization of activities for a specific camp. Candidates must plan interactive, age-specific experiences for campers, work closely with the Camp Director for the completion of attendance and day-to-day operations of their camp, must delegate important roles and tasks to staff members within their camp.

Candidates must have a University level education (BEd recommended) and have their standard first aid training completed.

Counsellor:
The HTS Summer Program is looking for Camp Counsellors who have completed Grade 11 and who are enthusiastic and engaging individuals that will be positive leaders looking to make the summer camp experience enjoyable for all. Counsellors will be responsible for following interactive daily schedules, fostering an inclusive environment among campers and staff, and ensuring the safety of campers during off-campus excursions. Standard first aid training must be completed.

The ability to speak Mandarin and/or Cantonese is considered an asset.

We have positions available in all camps – All Sports, Adventure, Discovery, Performing Arts, Art of Computers, Alphabesties and Extended Care.

Application Forms
Camp Coordinator and Counsellor application forms are due by March 30, 2019. Counsellor in Training (CIT) application forms are due by April 30, 2019.

Refund/Cancellation Policy
All cancellation requests must be received in writing by the Camp Director, John Clement. Requests submitted prior to May 17, 2019, will be refunded minus a $100 administration fee. Refunds will not be issued for cancellation requests received after May 17, 2019.

Refunds will not be issued for camp days missed for any reason.

Program changes can be accommodated at any time, if space is available, by contacting the Camp Director. Additional costs will be charged to your account where applicable. For changes submitted after May 17, 2019, fee refunds resulting from program changes will be credited to your account, as there are no cash refunds. There will be $50 fee for any additional changes made to registration after June 9, 2019. Programs may be cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, you will be notified if this is the case at the end of May.

Please allow four weeks for processing of refunds.
