Have your team join Helen Pereira-Raso, Head of School at Holy Trinity School (HTS), Sandra Herbst, a global leader in assessment and leadership, and the faculty of HTS as they reveal the ways in which quality assessment principles support organizational change and the ongoing pursuit of excellence - both in your classroom and leadership practice.

Why Should Your Team Attend?

  • To extend the collective understanding of assessment as a catalyst for organizational efficacy
  • To uncover models for creating alignment between learning and leading
  • To learn from HTS teachers as they share the ways in which classroom assessment practices have deepened student learning
  • To have time to reflect and plan as a team
The team from St. Mildred's-Lightbourn School found that hearing from HTS teachers was so valuable since they are the ones putting these assessment techniques into practice, and have actually lived through these experiences.
"For me, the biggest takeaway was learning the seven steps of assessment. I have referred to them frequently in my teaching practice."
- Tami from Collingwood School, BC

TESTIMONIALS

Dear Helen,

It took me the drive back to the city to wrap my head around the scope of what I gained from HTS last weekend. I've been fortunate to have had some great professional development experiences in my career. I want you to know that HTS's Assessment Summit was one of the most inspiring and productive I've had.

The ways you and your team, with Sandra's guidance, modelled the principles you learned and shared with us was impressive. I appreciated that you took the time to connect with all of us individually and that checked in with us throughout our learning process. Your plenaries were designed to respond to our questions and needs, and the breakout sessions allowed us to hear stories of collaborative learning and implementing new assessment practices in a number of disciplines across your school divisions. You also gave us opportunities to engage in some productive conversations with colleagues from other schools and to do some hands-on collaboration.

In both the Single Point Rubrics and Getting to Personalization Through Instruction and Assessment sessions, I heard stories of long and challenging iterative learning journeys by inspiring teachers who generously shared their work and included their students' voices. In both, I walked away with the presenters' clear summit view of some outcomes we, in our school, can achieve, but I also had a clear sense of first manageable steps. I loved that the sessions had strong foundational principles and included hands-on protocols that I can use in my classes and department right away.

What I heard was a story of school transformation from a truly inspiring learning community.

I want to thank you, Sandra, and the HTS team for a fantastic professional development experience. You were wonderful hosts.

Best,
Trena Evans, Ph.D.
